Dragon 1/35 King Tiger Build

I really should of taken some photos as I was assembling this kit, it's an older kit but can certainly hold it's own among the newer Takom and Meng offerings.
It certainly gives you a nice amount of Photo Etch (PE) which can at times get a bit fiddly but they do give you the option to use either the plastic part (which is actually really well "cast") or use the replacement PE parts from the fret. The PE does lend a certain refinement to the model which in my opinion enhances the overall aesthetics.

This is what it looks like after 3 or 4 evenings work and prior to getting a coat of primer.

As you can see the level of detail that is added by using the PE is definately worth the time spent.

The kit comes with some excellent steel wire tow ropes which again enhance the model.

Started work on painting the wheels.

and making the tracks, this is the bit that normally drives me over the edge  :)

Primer went on with no dramas and the base coats of Dunkelgelb have been applied, I used 5 differing shades with the lightest at the front and graduating to a darker shade at the back.

The next stage was to paint the Rotbraun "Tiger" stripes, these will then be masked showing an outline of the Dunkelgelb. Then I'll spray the whole thing Green.
